Long Service
As there isn't a meeting to report on this week, I thought I would post a photograph taken this week of our two longest serving society members. Seen in the photograph is Ron Miller who joined the society in 1950 and served as Competition and Exhibition Secretary before becoming Chairman in 1954. He resigned this position in 1962 for health reasons, but remained a member until retiring to Beer in East Devon in the 1980's. The Society conferred upon him the honour of Life Membership in 1988.
The other person in the photograph is current Society President John Long. John received his Life Membership in 2000 thus making this duo the longest serving members and the only two living Life Members. (Photo: Mrs Audrey Miller)
