Mel Gigg FRPS and Antonia Cox
Kingswood Photographic Society welcomed Mel Gigg FRPS and Antonia Cox on Friday 9th July with their joint presentation "Deep Blue to Far Red". Antonia gave lots of information about underwater photography then projected some wonderful underwater images. Mel followed on the subject of Infrared photography, and projected many beautiful images created with a camera which had been converted for infrared photography.

Bristol Harbourside - Evening out
Friday 2nd July was the first of our "Evenings Out" and about 10 of us braved the shower of rain and wandered around the Harbourside. Some picture were taken including portraits of Lawrence, a character who agreed to pose for us. See a full report on our Social Page.

Paul and Bob were completing a week-long tour of clubs in this area and their final talk to us on Friday 21st May made a evening of contrasts. Paul Damen BA, ARPS with his landscapes and excellent monochrome prints, followed by Bob Norris EFIAP, APAGB with colour prints, many of which were expertly manipulated to great effect.

The 2009 London Salon Exhibition
On Friday 9th April we viewed the pictures from the 2009 LONDON SALON EXHIBITION as projected images. There were a mixture of exciting and beautiful pictures, together with many controversial ones! David Coombes ARPS
David Coombes ARPS was our speaker on Friday 26th March with his talk "Walking in the Himalayas" David is a FOTOSPEED LECTURER and is seen in the photograph (on the left) with our Chairman Adrian Herring ARPS, DPAGB who, co-incidentally, is also on the Fotospeed Lecture circuit.
We were treated to stunning pictures illustrating David's trek to a high point in the Himalayas where he was able to see, and photograph, Mount Everest.

Anita Nutter DPAGB & Delvin Stonehill MPAGB were our visiting speakers on Friday 19th March, completing a week's lecture tour of the West Country. They showed us a wide selection of monochrome, straight prints, split toned, solarised and hand tinted. These was followed by colour prints, both darkroom and digital, creative and impressionistic. A fascinating evening!

Audio Visual Evening
On Friday 12th March we were due to have an Audio Visual Competition, but as just four members produced sequences, it was decided to view them just for enjoyment, suggestions for improvement and any other general comment. Later in the evening we viewed the KPS entry for our Federation's Digitally Projected Image competition (where we came in at joint 13th out of 43 other clubs) - we also viewed the individual winning images and those scoring 12 and above.
