On Friday 24th June 2016, our speaker was Tim Kifton LRPS, CPAGB, AWPF, AFIAP, PSA7 with his talk 'The Art of Urban Exploration' This was a digitally presented talk on the exploration and photography of abandoned buildings. Tim's travels included the UK, Germany, France, Bulgaria and Belgium. I think the final section of abandoned vehicles were particularly interesting to the male members of the society! Tim has captured many unique images - which formed a fascinating evening!

On Friday 17th June 2016, the workshop evening was led by Kevin Poole who demonstrated Focus Stacking in the first half. After tea and coffee, and Chris Deane sat at the computer and showed some shortcuts and ways of using Camera Raw and Bridge to improve on post processing.
Evening Walk
On Friday 10th June 2016 a number of keen members joined together to walk along the Canal in Bath then up Bathwick Meadows. Pictures were taken despite overcast weather and a sprinkling of rain

Roger and Judith Parry
We were delighted on Friday 3rd June 2016, to welcome Roger Parry MPAGB and Judith Parry DPAGB, AFIAP with their print talk 'Parry's Pictures'
They displayed a miscellany of subjects, travel,landscape, macro, still life, portraits and fine art nudes - the latter being in the studio and on location. It was a delight to see the work of the well-known and busy couple.

Q2 Competition 2016
Our 2nd Quarterly Competition was held on Friday 27th May 2016 and was judged by Michael Curtis ARPS
Mike is an excellent Judge and dealt with our entries giving advice, praise and with a sense of humour. I believe this is his second visit to judge for us, and many members were asking when he could come again. We ribbed him about the comment "I loved this to bits" which was the accolade given to many of our prints and DPI's.

George Reekie DPAGB, ABPE
Our visiting speaker on Friday 13th May 2016 was George Reekie DPAGB, ABPE with his talk "An evening with George Reekie" George has been to talk to us before so we knew were in for an excellent evening.
His images included Sports action, African Wildlife, Bird photography and Steam Locomotives. The pictures were shown as projected images and he kept us enthralled all evening with the excellence of his photography.

Portrait Evening
On Friday 6th May 2016, our own member Mike Martin organised a lively portrait session, in the hall with studio lights and in the churchyard with soft evening light. I was not able to be present but Joanne Searle has kindly sent me some pictures of the models, Steph, Kelly and Paul.

On Friday 29th April 2016, our visitors were JOHN BAKER MFIAP, EFIAP/p and SUE BAKER EFIAP BPE3* with their joint talk titled 'There and Back Again'
This was a wonderful monochrome and colour print talk covering landscape photography from such locations as Chamonix, Iceland, North Wales, Scotland and the Lake District. In addition there were a few creative and portrait images. John and Sue are seen here enjoying a well-deserved cuppa during the break

Outing to Avebury
On Thursday 21st April 2016, a group of members went on an outing to Avebury, organised by Hilary Kay. The Group are pictured here (photo by Joanne Searle) and more pictures are to be found on the Social Page.

AP and FT Trophy Evening
Friday 22nd April 2016, was the Annual FT (Frank Thomas) Trophy and the AP (Andy & Pauline Xena) Trophy event. These are basically a Triptych competition, but the three prints or DPI's must be related in some way.
The competition was judged by Frank Feeney, who was a 'first-time' Judge and he gave interesting comments on our work. Like Martin scooped both awards with a successful print panel of portraits titled "Paul" and the DPI panel was titled "What is Art?"

Our speaker on Friday 15th October 2016 was JACK CASEMENT ARPS with a presentation titled 'More than just Photoshop'

This was a rather different talk as Jack uses a number of software applications including Bryce, Poser, Apophysis and Ultra Fractals which produce interesting and very creative pictures.
This is Jack's first visit to KPS, and we were included on a tour Jack has made this week to a number of WCPF clubs and societies.

Critique Evening
On Friday 8th April 2016, we held a Critique Evening when various members brought along prints and/or DPI's to show, and to hopefully get advice and suggestions from other members on the evening.
3rd Cheltenham International Salon.
On Friday 1st April 2016, we viewed the3rd Cheltenham International Salon which was most enjoyable. It was interesting to note that several of our own members had their pictures included in the presentation.

Les Loosemore ARPS, DPAGB, AWPF
On Friday 18th March 2016, we welcomed Les Loosemore ARPS, DPAGB, AWPF with his talk 'A Return Visit' As before, Les arrived with his own very impressive illuminated long print stand which enabled him to display his Landscapes, Waterfall pictures, Panoramas, and other subjects in an ideal manner. Les is a very prolific photographer, and his enthusiasm and dry humour kept us on our toes all evening.
